| First day of leaving home. Probably the worst one. Leaving Chalons at 5:45 GMT+1 (very comfortable bus!!!) Arrived at the Charles de Gaulle airport (Paris), consternation : our plane is 4 hours late... Checking baggage (with people always asking the same questions : have you weapons ? do you have baggage that is not yours ? ...), customs and Terminal E. We lunched. There, we learnt there was a quarter of an hour more to wait. The delay was due to a storm in New York, where the plane landed for the first time, which made impossible every take-off. Eventually, we had to go to the departure gate, at 15:50 GMT+1. The plane took off at 17:00 GMT+1.

| The plane was new for most of the pupils Evidence 2,3. We had few turbulences, which allowed us to move in the plane, and talk with people we knew. We also ate in the plane. It was the time to begin our written fold and to fill in papers about immigration.

| Arrived in Atlanta at 20:00 GMT-5. Evidence 17 Immigration service, with no questions (maybe because we were a group), then checking baggages (taking what we need for the night) and customs, US ones, again.
We had to wait about 1 hour or so the bus to take us to the hotel (in the dark cold of Atlanta). Finally arrived at the hotel, we had to wait again to have the rooms (we were about to sleep in the corridor as we were so tired!!!). When teachers gave us the magnetical keys (I was with Anaïs, Julie and Justine) everyone had a shower and went to bed at 00:27 GMT-5.
Evidence 10
We have to point out that teachers, even if they were as tired or more than us, always kept smiling, without nerviness or anger according to the situation. Thank you!!! | |
